The primary objective of the Sales group is to ensure the growth of our firm through the development of new business. The Sales Associate is responsible for winning new accounts within the assigned industry and region. The position is also responsible for maximizing sales growth from existing customer base through the development of new sales, marketing, and customer support strategies; and achieving specific volume growth targets in the assigned area(s) of the business.

Main Responsibilities:
 

  • Act as the single point of contact for all new business inquires across both Air & Sea logistics services.

  • Obtain new customers through sales "hunting" activity, cold calling and correctly assessing the prospective account as Profitable, Significant or Strategic in order to secure winning bids.

  • Drive both proactive and ongoing sales "farming" of existing customers. 

  • Perform all aspects of the sales process and input & update all relevant activities.

  • Conduct mutually agreed Annual Business Reviews with the customer and maintain close/ongoing communication with customer and Operations team to ensure expectations are satisfied.

  • Report to Sales manager in agreed intervals on market developments and status of customer accounts

  • Adhere to all Company policies listed and Sales Guidelines

  • Provide Competitive rate quotations, integrated solutions, logistics planning and operational optimization services to assigned clients.

  • Additional duties as assigned

Skills/Experience:

  • Bachelor degree in Business/Commerce/Management, Language studies or similar field or a Masters degree in Business Administration / Commerce (preferred) from a reputable university 

  • Minimum 2+ year(s) of solid experience in Business Development (Sales) within the Logistics/Transportation industry.

  • Strong regional knowledge of the Transportation/Logistics Industry

  • Fluency in English and Arabic is a must and some knowledge of Chinese, German, Italian, Persian is a strong asset

  • Experience with logistics processes, systems and solutions is preferred

  • Intermediate level hands on experience  with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) applications and some basic experience with CRM tools preferred 

  • Goal oriented, disciplined, team player and self-motivated to produce results

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Effective presentation and customer relations skills

  • Excellent listening skills

  • Strong negotiation and problem solving skills.

  • Ability and willingness to travel both nationally and Internationally up to 10% of the time per year
